I began sculpting professionally in 1991. My college degree is in early childhood education, which led me to focus my art on women and children. Having studied how young children learn – their inner life – I acquired knowledge of sculpture by attending workshops with accomplished artists: George Lundeen, Bruno Lucchesi, Robert Ortleib, and Philippe Faraut. I believe that my sculptures are stronger because of my academic and sculptural training.
My art shows and competitions include The Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale (1992 to 2008), Loveland Sculpture in the Park, Sedona Sculpture Walk, Celebration of Fine Art, Thunderbird Artists Shows, C.M. Russell Museum, Women Artists of the West Membership Shows, The American Plains Artists Invitational Art Exhibition, The Strathearn Foundation Fine Art at the Ronald Reagan Library, the Sonoran Art League Fine Art Festival and Phippen Western Art Show among others.
I sculpt primarily in water-based clay but do bronze as well. In 1999 I was commissioned by the Police Department of Ontario, California to create a memorial to their fallen officers. Entitled "The Other Victims"; it depicts the children left behind when an officer has paid the ultimate price. It can be viewed in the lobby of the police headquarters building, 2500 S. Archibald Ave., Ontario, California.
The Millard Sheets Gallery in Pomona, California purchased a terra cotta piece entitled "Shirley: A Study in Sculpture, 2002 Los Angeles County Fair" for the Fair Administration’s permanent collection. "The Gospel of Life” was commissioned by the Knights of Columbus for the Mission San Juan Capistrano and is in their administration building complex. I accept and welcome private commissions for collectors.
I work in my home studio and do my own firings in my walk-in gas kiln. In addition, I teach sculpture and hand built ceramics for the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California at the James T. Brulte Senior Center.

My Artist's Statement
An artist's product – her art work –
is her statement. Or at least, mine
seems to be. The way I see life and my inner emotions are intertwined
and come to the fore when I
sculpt. I work comfortably in the
arena I am most familiar with – that
is, being a woman and a mother.
From my educational background I
know about children, and I draw on all three things to create my terra
cotta sculptures. I am proud of my
field and hope that my work demonstrates that.
