My professional sculpting experience goes back a short ways to 1991. After taking classes with such notables as George Lundeen, Bruno Lucchesi, Daisy Grubbs and Robert Ortleib, I embarked on the world of art shows and competitions. I have shown at the Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale for 10 years, the Sedona Sculpture Walk, the Celebration of Fine Art, Thunderbird Artists Shows, C.M. Russell Museum, Women Artists of the West Membership Shows, The American Plains Artists Invitational Art Exhibition, The Strathearn Foundation Fine Art at the Ronald Reagan Library, the Sonoran Art League Fine Art Festival and the Phippen Western Art Show to name just a few.
My work focuses on women and children in bronze and in terra cotta. I have recently finished a memorial for the Ontario, CA, Police Department for their fallen officers entitled "The Other Victims." It depicts the children left behind when an officer has paid the ultimate price.
Millard Sheets Gallery, Pomona, CA, purchased a terra cotta piece entitled "Shirley: A Study in Sculpture, 2002 Los Angeles County Fair" for their permanent collection.
Cheryl makes here home in Etiwanda, CA, with her husband, Jim. All of her work is created in her home studio and firings are done in her own walk-in gas kiln. She is a Signature Member of the Women Artists of the West.
